New Security Office Project Update

April 6 Update:

Hello Glenners,

I just wanted to provide a quick update and picture of the Security Office Project.  Our new building should arrive next week and the tentative schedule continues to stay on track!  Today, we’ll be removing more material and begin to compact and gravel the hole.

Quick Project Overview:

  • Family Center is ‘Security Office’ and remains closed until project completion.  The Security Gate phone extension is not operational.  If you need to leave a message for Security, please use the ‘general mailbox’ extension, #201.Entering The Glen:  There will be a Security Officer stationed at the entrance 24/7 until the gate is operational.  Upon arrival, every member will need to provide picture ID.  Guest check-in remains unchanged.  Please see Mike’s article in April’s Pipeline for details.
  • April 9-13 – Install building.
  • April 16-20 – Finish all installations and connections.  Gate card system remains operational.
  • April 23-27 – Complete training and begin set-up of RFID decal system.

April 30-May 4 – Deactivate old gate card system – issue RFID decals.

Hello Glenners,

We’re getting pretty close to having a new Security Office!  As you may have noticed, we’ve begun the preliminary site work which will continue this coming week.  I plan on providing weekly updates as we begin the final phases of the project.

Here’s our very tentative schedule:

  • March 26-30 – Begin moving Security and project ‘base of operations’ into Family Center.  Continue site prep, asphalt cuts, and conduit installation.  Family Center closed until project completion.
  • April 2-6 – Demolish old building, remove concrete slab, gate arms, and pads, excavate & add gravel for placement, install French drain & fill.

    Entering The Glen:
There will be a Security Officer stationed at the entrance 24/7 until the gate is operational.  Upon arrival, every member will need to provide picture ID.  Guest check-in remains unchanged.
  • April 9-13 – Install, level, backfill new building.  Connect power, gate arms, skirting, lights, RFID readers, communications lines & cameras.  Move into new building!
  • April 16-20 – Finish all installations and connections.  Wrap up any remaining work.  Gate card system remains operational.
  • April 23-27 – Complete training and begin set-up of RFID decal system.
  • April 30-May 4 – Deactivate old gate card system – issue RFID decals.

This project involves multiple vendors, contractors, along with our own staff and the schedule will likely change.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we embark on this highly involved project!  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Glen staff.

Thank you,

Aaron Hostetler
